Help with the Configure Menu

============================
JIMSAIP needs info about your equipment and images. It needs to know what video card you have, the maximum image size you will be working with, and an image file extension to use when displaying available files (default is *.* which will display all files in a directory). This information is stored in a configuration file that is read every time you re-start JIMSAIP. The file is named CONFIG.AIP and is kept in the same directory as JIMSAIP.EXE.

Configure Dialog Box
Configure Dialog Box
You will be given the following menu choices to configure your setup.

Select Video: You have 4 choices here: VGA 320x200 256 colors; VESA 640x480 256 colors; VESA 800x600 256 colors; and VESA 1024x768 colors.

Maximum Image Size: JIMSAIP uses this information to setup the XMS image buffers. You should input the maximum number of rows and columns for the images you will be working with. Don't overdo it unless you have a lot of XMS memory. If you don't have enough XMS memory to support your maximum image size as entered here, JIMSAIP will adjust the dimensions (in a 4 columns to 3 rows ratio to preserve square pixels) and your images will be truncated upon loading to fit the image buffers (the 'upper left' part of your image will be loaded).

File Extension: This parameter will select the file extension that JIMSAIP uses when it displays available files for loading or saving. The default is *.* which will show every file in the subdirectory.

You can also fill in the other blanks with constant information that may be useful to you when you save files. See FITS Header.
