View Image Parameters

=====================
When you SAVE an image, a header containing much useful information about your image is also stored in a header along with the image data. Much of this information is automatically generated by JIMSAIP, some is derived from your configuration file, and some you have to enter yourself. If you re-load a file that was previously saved by JIMSAIP, all the information will be intact but you can change it if you need to.

Invoking the command will bring up a vertical menu with all the pertinent items listed. You can click on any of the items or use the cursor keys to highlight one (followed by {Enter}). In either case, the stored information will be displayed and you will be asked to input a new value. Pressing {Enter} with no other input will retain the old value.

To retain conformity with the FITS format, follow the guidance given for entering new values. Note that leading zeros are important in time and date. For example, use 03:15:01 and 01/05/96. Note that the FITS standard for dates is dd/mm/yy. Thus the example is for the first of May 1996.

This Function can be accessed also with the {Alt} P hot key from the Examine Image mode. Most often you will need to input an Object name. Occasionally, you may have to adjust the UT value of the exposure to record the mid-point time of the exposure.
