The Gaussian Histogram Equalization Function

The Gaussian Histogram Equalization Function recalculates the pixel values
to produce a histogram that is more or less
a Gaussian distribution (See CCD Astronomy, Winter 97, Page 16). It tends
to bring out faint details in galaxies and nebulosities AND show details in
the brighter parts.
