View Buffer

====================
JIMSAIP maintains three data buffers to hold your images. To view the image contained in those buffers, there are several options. View Buffer will show the image and allow you adjust the BLACK and WHITE levels. Unlike Examine Image, View Buffer does not display any other information on the screen so you can take an uncluttered photograph if you desire.

Upon selection of View Buffer, you will be presented with a dialog screen asking for a BLACK and a WHITE level for the image. JIMSAIP will usually have a default value displayed and you can accept it by simply pressing {Enter}. If you want to change it, enter the new value and press {Enter}. The entered values will become the defaults. If the BLACK level is less than the WHITE level, you will get a negative image. You may want to examine the Histogram of the image to help select the BLACK and WHITE levels.

Once the image is displayed you have some hot keys that are useful. First, by pressing R ('Rescale') you get a chance to change the BLACK and WHITE levels using the same screen as when you entered View Buffer the first time.

As there are three buffers, you can flip among buffers A, B, and C by simply pressing the A, B, or C keys (upper or lower case). If there is no data in any given buffer, you will get a 'booboo beep' and nothing will happen. If you have switched buffers, the R command will allow you to rescale that buffer. The information is kept with each buffer.

You can flip the image right to left by pressing {Alt} F and top to bottom by pressing {Alt} I.
