Variable Nebulae
====================
A couple of pilot images of Hubble's Variable Nebula (NGC 2261) in
Monoceros showed that changes could be detected in this deep sky object
with amateur equipment in a matter of days. There are at least two others,
Hind's Nebula (NGC 1555) in Taurus and NGC 6729 in Corona Australis. See
the discussion in Burnham's Celestial Handbook for more
information.
This has led to the idea of a cooperative amateur patrol in which amateurs
all over the world would be invited to image these objects at every
opportunity and to combine the results to give as continuous coverage of any
changes as possible. Please contact jim@jamesroe.com for more
information.
