Natural Wonders of Oaxaca

====================
The State of Oaxaca is very mountainous. The highest point is about 13,000 feet above sea level. The central valley where the city of Oaxaca is located is at about 5,000 feet elevation. The southern boundary of the state of Oaxaca is the Pacific Ocean and there are some steep slopes and canyons that lead down from the highlands to the ocean.

In the higher elevations, the climate is delightful. Being in the tropics, it never gets too cold, and being at higher altitudes, it never gets too hot. The coast is tropical humid however. Traveling there can be a welcome respite at times.

Two of our favorite sites are

The Waterfall at Jayacatlan

Hierve El Agua (Boiling Water)
